Code of Conduct


Parents' Code of Conduct

As a parent / guardian of a student who will be representing Oxley High School you must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any sporting activity or event.

Expectations

You must meet the following requirements in regard to your conduct during any such activity or event;

โ—Remember that your child participates in sport for their own enjoyment, not yours.

โ—Encourage your child to participate, do not force them.

โ—Focus on your child's efforts and performance rather than winning or losing.

โ—Never ridicule or yell at your child and other children for making a mistake or losing a competition.

โ—Remember that children learn best by example. Appreciate good performance and skilful play by all participants.

โ—Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sporting events.

โ—Respect officials' decisions and teach children to do likewise.

โ—Show appreciation for the coaches and teachers. Without them, your child could not participate.

โ—Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every young person regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion.

โ—Be a positive role model.

โ—Understand the repercussions if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of, this code of behaviour.

Students' Code of Conduct

Students in the Talented Athlete Program at Oxley High School are expected to sign the Player's Code of Conduct. A copy of the contract follows this information. In signing the contract, your son/daughter agrees to comply and understands that sanctions may be imposed if they breach any aspect of the Codes.

The students agree that while participating in any events (including training sessions, games and regular classes) undertaken by Oxley High School, to adhere to the regulations and rules of the school and specific sporting association. Furthermore, they will:

1.ย ย ย ย ย  Act respectfully and responsibly toward teammates, opposition players, coaches, teachers, club officials and other spectators of all teams. Abusive, insulting and offensive language or actions are unacceptable.

2.ย ย ย ย ย  Respect and follow the reasonable directions of coaching staff, teachers, umpires/referees and club administrators.

3.ย ย ย ย ย  Respect the facilities and equipment of Oxley High School and any other outside venues, which may be utilised by the school.

4.ย ย ย ย ย  Wear full school uniform at all times as required and maintain a reasonable level of academic effort (including completing required homework, assignments etc.)

5.ย ย ย ย ย  Attend 85% of TAP lessons/sessions and bring all required equipment.

Sanctions may include:

โ€ข Warnings, either verbal or in writing,

โ€ข Ejection from the field of play/stadium/courts,

โ€ข A suspension imposed by the school,

โ€ข Expulsion from the Talented Athlete Program at Oxley High School

As elite sports people, you are role models for the rest of the school community. As such we expect you to set an example worthy of being followed both on and off the field.
