Who are the coaches?

All our coaches are highly qualified and experienced from NSW Rugby, NSW Hockey, NSW Netball and Northern Inland Football. Some sports have teachers as the coach who have years of playing and/or coaching experience. Exercise Physiologists from Rural Fit are partnering with Oxley HS to conduct individualised and sport specific testing and training programs.

Will training for my sport impact on my learning?

TAP is held concurrently with the normal school timetable, so depending on the allocated time, students will miss 2 periods of their regular classes each week. It is up to students to catch up any missed work and assessment tasks/tests will take priority over TAP.

In 2022, TAP will be embedded in the timetable as an elective.ย  Periods will be balanced betwen practical and theory lessons with sport afternoon as their training session.

What does my child learn in the sport workshops?

TAP students have the opportunity to attend various workshops throughout the year; such as Sports Performance Psychology, Performance Nutrition, Careers in Sports, Sports Injury Management to value add to their development.

How does the school communicate with the families?

Mrs Davis is the main point of contact for all TAP queries, emails will be the primary correspondence method, other communication methods will be 'Team App' and the Oxley Facebook page

Is there a fee involved?

Yes. TAP is a user pays program with fees kept to a minimum. The annual fee is $350, plus additional excursion costs. Fees may be payable in instalments or in full by Week 10, Term 1. No refunds can be issued if you choose to leave, are injured or are removed from TAP.

Years 7 to 12

Students in years 7 to 12 must complete an application form, attend a training session as a trial and have an interview with the TAP Co-ordinator.

Iโ€™m not in a rep team โ€“ does that matter?

Students need to demonstrate a high standard of sporting potential, high level of fitness, โ€˜coachabilityโ€™ and positive attitude. Students must be currently registered/enrolled in a community or representative club. Students must also demonstrate a positive school record.
