“Going to a public school was incredibly beneficial for my career after graduation. Having teachers who were in my corner—pushing, guiding and believing in my potential—played a huge part in my journey to becoming a singer. I believe public education is just as valuable as private; it all comes down to the teachers and their belief in their students’ ability to succeed. Oxley High has some of the best teachers across all departments. They always encouraged my dreams and helped me believe they were possible, and for that I’ll be forever grateful.

Since leaving school—and even while I was finishing my HSC—I’ve had the opportunity to experience some amazing things. I’ve toured twice with international country music star Luke Combs (the first time while completing my HSC), been nominated twice and won a Golden Guitar, sold out tours and released an EP that debuted at number one on the Country ARIA Charts. Without the belief and support of Oxley High and its staff, I can confidently say I wouldn’t have taken that first step toward becoming a full-time musician.” – Lane Pittman, Class of 2023

We’ve had family who have both worked at and attended Oxley High, and we felt it would give our kids the chance to connect with a wide range of cultures and be actively involved in the broader Tamworth community. In their senior years, the school offered the subjects and support they needed to pursue their future careers.
